Along with Chazz, Alexis loses her Duel against the final Shadow Rider, Amnael. As a consequence, she is sent to an alternate dimension along with the others who lost where she remains unconscious. Jaden manages to free them by finally defeating Amnael, returning them to Earth.
Chazz comes out well-nigh his infatuation with Alexis after Jaden defeats Amnael. Atticus helps Chazz with his crush and he steals all seven spirit keys in order to force Alexis to Duel with him. Although Chazz plays suggestive cards such equally "Hidden Wish" and "Love Letter" to show her how much he cares, Alexis wins in the end, stating that she cannot return his feelings, because she's "in love with Dueling". In this Duel Alexis introduces her "Cyber Angel" serial, which she uses to defeat Chazz. Due to Chazz stealing the keys they awaken Kagemaru the leader of the Shadow Riders. Jaden beats him and life returns to normal. She watches Chumley Huffington duel Crowler and seems impressed by his dueling than watches Jaden and Zane duel although their match ends in a tie.
Chazz's crush on Alexis continues throughout the serial, although afterward having his free will sapped by Sartorius, his interest fades, until he is rescued by Jaden and returned to his old self.
Society of Light
At the kickoff of season ii, she joins Jaden's friends to watch him duel Aster Phoenix seeming impressed by Aster's skills. She after decides to move into the Slifer Red dorm with Jaden, Syrus, Chazz and Tyranno Hassleberry considering Dr. Crowler begins constantly pressuring her into condign a pop star Duelist with Atticus. So Atticus challenges her to a duel, where if she loses, she and Atticus volition get a pop singing group named "Bro-bro and Sissy", if she wins, they will cease pressuring her to become a pop star. She wins, and show cases all of her "Cyber Angels" series. Afterward she tells Atticus to "allow go of his dream".
This soon changes when Chazz becomes brainwashed into the Society of Light by Sartorius. Chazz begins Dueling Obelisk Blues to brainwash them into following Sartorius as well, and succeeds past using his powerful "White Veil" carte that Sartorius gave him. Thus, Alexis feels information technology's her responsibility every bit an Obelisk Blue to Duel Chazz and win against him so she could restore him as well as the other Obelisk Blues back to normal, despite Atticus' warnings. During the duel, she starts doubting her dueling skills considering Chazz is outsmarting all of her moves and guesses, thus coming together the aforementioned fate as her fellow elites.
Although she remains brainwashed by Sartorius for the majority of season two watching Jaden duel members of the cult, she finally begins to prove some resistance by refusing to play the "White Veil" card given to her by Sartorius during her Duel against Maitre' D in the Genex Tournament. During that Duel, Chazz, Syrus and Jaden (who are watching) likewise indicate out that she is standing upwards for Obelisk Blues despite that she was now under Sartorious' control in the Lodge of Light, perhaps suggesting she was trying to intermission free. Additionally, she vaguely begins to remember the times when she and Jaden were friends when Sartorius orders her to Duel Jaden for his satellite fundamental. However, Sartorius notices this and thus strips Alexis of her listen completely, rendering her a lifeless and empty puppet.
During her Duel with Jaden to get the key for Sartorius, Jaden tries to suspension Sartorius' control on her and remind her of their friendship past playing cards that Atticus and Chazz would often use ("Swing of Memories" and "Ojama Black", respectively). Withal, she does not listen to anything Jaden tries disarming her of because her heed was completely stripped by Sartorius, thus she had no memories either. Jaden still manages to win which restores her heed back to normal. Upon being returned, she has no memory of always inbound the Society of Low-cal or being brainwashed just notices that she and Jaden were in a Duel. When she asks Jaden who won, he says she definitely did (as she was at present herself again).
Alexis spent the remainder of the Genex Tournament recovering from her brainwashing. She eventually got meliorate and joined Sryus and Hassleberry in watching Jaden duel Prince Ojin and beating him. She later witnessed Chazz win the tournament and defeating the balance of the Society of Light: she did, however, betoken out Chazz having lost to Jaden but he managed to convince her that Duel didn't count equally no medals were exchanged. She soon witnessed Blair Flannigan return and challenge Chazz for the concluding Genex medal she had.(here, it was near evident her brainwashing had taken its toll on her as she tried to remind Chazz who Blair was, forgetting that Blair came to Duel Academy long later Chazz left). Chazz soon beat out Blair, though Alexis commented on how close she was to winning and how much she had improved.
Dimension World
During season iii, Alexis accompanies Jaden, Syrus, Axel Brodie, Jim Crocodile Cook, Jesse Anderson and Hassleberry in solving the mystery behind the new professor, Thelonious Viper's new bio bands that announced to exist sucking the free energy from Dueling students. When Viper finally collects enough energy to ship Duel Academy to a different dimension, she aids Jaden, Axel, Bastion, Blair, Jim, Jesse and Hassleberry in fending off the rest of the school, who have been transformed past Yubel into Duel Ghouls though there are times where she needs to exist rescued past Jaden.
Yubel is eventually driven from Marcel and the school returned to Duel University isle just Jesse was left behind. Alexis joins Atticus, Jaden, Chazz, Bastion, Jim, Axel, Hassleberry and Syrus in finding him by going through a dimensional warp, just are transported to a dissimilar dimension than before this time. Jaden badly searches for Jesse after arriving, regardless of the village elderberry whom they run across'due south warning not to search at night simply to await for day, as night is when the evil Duel Monster Spirits strike. The others experience information technology is their responsibility as a team to follow him also.
However, Jaden becomes and then obsessed with finding Jesse that he doesn't notice when Alexis, Atticus, Chazz and Hassleberry all fall behind. The 4 begin to recall that Jaden doesn't care nigh them anymore and make up one's mind not to follow. They are eventually captured past Brron, Mad Male monarch of Dark Globe, and sacrificed by him to create the "Super Polymerization" card. Before Alexis is sacrificed, she sadly says while her emotions are amplified by the spell on her "I thought nosotros were friends. Judge not. It'south distressing to know that..."
It is subsequently discovered past Bastion that they are not expressionless, but only transported to an alternate, lifeless and cold dimension. Jaden would still be able to rescue them if he defeats Yubel in a Duel. Jaden instead decides to make upwardly for all the wrongs he did, to Yubel and his friends, by fusing his spirit with Yubel's so they could exist together once more. This consequently restored the dimensions' balance to normal, releasing his friends.
Darkness
During the fourth season, Alexis finds Jaden'southward new and serious personality to be abrasive and sullen, especially when he tried interrogating Atticus despite her blood brother's troubled country in the hospital, and claims Jaden had changed. She especially gets mad when Jaden coerces her injured brother into a Duel using the Nightshroud mask, until she discovers it was Atticus' thought. In general, Alexis and Jaden'due south friendship seems to have become strained in season four. Alexis in one case tries to make amends with him, saying they are still friends despite what occurred in the alternate dimension, too inviting him to the Duel University political party. Jaden simply says he may go ("only if I want to") and so walks away.
At the party, Alexis begins to doubt that Jaden will always come up as time goes by, and too that things will ever be right between them again. As she is about to leave, Jaden finally shows up, and Hassleberry pairs them as a Tag Duel for the Tag Duel tournament assuming they chose each other. Though they win all of their Duels, Alexis begins to become angry considering Jaden continues to ignore her cards and only thinks of his ain.
During the last Tag Duel against Blair and Hassleberry, Alexis agrees to switch partners and become Hassleberry'due south partner when Blair plays "Partner Change" due to Jaden's disregard for her feelings and cards. Alexis eventually decides to destroy "Partner Change" and become Jaden'south partner again after Jaden refers to their get-go duel and shows that he'south now listening. Alexis uses their cards together to win the Tag Duel. Afterwards, Jaden and Alexis accept a talk alone, repairing their friendship. Alexis also startss to tell Jaden how she feels nearly him, merely decides to keep it to herself. It is as well through this last duel with Jaden that Alexis makes upward her mind to study away at the Duel College in N America.
Later, a mysterious duelist, who refers to himself equally "Trueman" begins to invade Duel Academy and sends the Duelists he defeats into the World of Darkness. Alexis is one of the last students standing, along with Atticus, Mindy and Jasmine. She is eventually Dueled and defeated too, and she and her deck are engulfed in darkness just equally Jaden arrives.
In the World of Darkness, Alexis profoundly begins to doubt her abilities in her teaching career at Duel Academy. She has nightmares where the students continue to mock her and insist on how awful of a teacher she is while refusing to attend her classes. Like the other students, she somewhen becomes completely consumed past the darkness of her thoughts, until Jaden's words inspire her and return her to Duel University later on telling her "students" about him.
At the Graduation Ceremony, she gave a heart warming speech at Graduation well-nigh how no thing how tough something is, we tin can always overcome it with friends past our side. During the party, she, Jesse and Axel take a chat outside, confident that they volition run across Jaden once again. She is probable now instruction, as she stated that as everyone volition move on, she volition non exist left backside, allowing herself to move on from the past and heading towards the future.
Other appearances
In the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga, Alexis is the same in terms of ranking, force, and motivation. She longs to exist viewed every bit a Duelist by her peers, rather than simply a female.
Relationships
Jaden Yuki
Many fans believe that Alexis has a crush on Jaden, which was first evident at the beginning of the series because of Jaden'southward Dueling skills, she became flustered nigh him, even challenging him to a Duel, much to Jasmine's dismay.[1] She was willing to follow him wherever he went, fifty-fifty if it lead to a series of unfortunate events, Jaden was however in that location to assistance her. She was also there to cheer him on during his Duels, and tried cheering him up when things were bad.[nine] [10] At times when Jaden put himself in danger, she would always get angered for his reckless actions.
During the Dimension World arc onwards, their relationship became more complicated because of Jaden's obsession with finding Jesse. She wanted to support him and have religion in him although the others began doubting him. Every bit Jaden's obsession got worse, she eventually came to agree with the others that all Jaden cared about now was Jesse, and she and his other friends were insignificant to him. As she was being sacrificed, she sadly said while her negative emotions were beingness amplified past a spell "I idea we were friends. Gauge not. It's sad to know that...".[11]
In season 4, their human relationship has generally grown apart, due to Jaden's new personality.[12] Just they were able to plough things around during the Duel University'due south Tag Duel tournament as Jaden started interim similar his old cocky over again.[xiii]
Alexis' interest in Jaden is shown more explicitly in the English version; in the original, Asuka never shows romantic interest towards anyone, which leads to her blood brother's repeated attempts to get her to notice someone. But in season 1, Alexis was shown staring, smiling at Jaden after he mocked Crowler. In episode 161 when she'due south seen thinking well-nigh him, and more strongly indicated in the next episode on two occasions. The first is when she's conspicuously frustrated with Jaden getting along with Blair during the pair Duel, and later after she tells him about her conclusion based on his influence; she simply says she was glad she met him, but has a lot of problem assembling her words, and blushes while she'due south speaking. Simply as Jaden leaves, a tear runs down her cheek, implying that she truly does have a crush on Jaden.
In the dub, Alexis' affections toward Jaden can be traced equally early as episode 3. Her dormmate, Jasmine wondered if Alexis was "falling for that Slifer", the "Slifer" being referred to every bit Jaden. In the Japanese version, Alexis merely refers to Jaden as "interesting". Alexis consistently will respond to another female person showing interest in Jaden. For example, in episode 106 when Blair give Jaden a flirty wink, she is clearly not pleased this is also present in the original version. Similarly, in dubbed episode 37, Chazz remarks that Tania might be Jaden's "type" after all. Alexis then vehemently denies this, retorting, "...no way Jaden would always appointment that affair". The notion is furthered when Jaden and Syrus Duel the Paradox Brothers. Alexis tells Bastion that she "is happy that Jaden gets to stay at the University." Bastion corrects her by assuming that she meant Jaden and Syrus, and presumably figures out that Alexis has a trounce on Jaden when Alexis tries to modify the subject. A similar situation too ensues when Mindy, Alexis' good friend and roommate, exclaims that she would never let a Slifer Red stay on campus. In episode 15, things take a turn when Harrington Rosewood challenges Jaden to a Duel with the prize of being Alexis' fiancé. Despite Jaden winning the Duel, his naiveté allows Alexis to downplay the office to i of friendship in the English version, stating, "...it means friend, at least for now, large guy."; in the Japanese version, Asuka instead calls Judai an idiot for not knowing the definition of the discussion "fiancé". Some other example of Alexis' affection towards Jaden is in episode 42 after Jaden wins against the Night Wizard Girl. Everyone else is mad at Jaden for winning and Jaden says "It'south not like shooting fish in a barrel being the bad guy." Alexis then replies "Aw, sometimes the girls like the bad guys," only then quickly tries to cover it up. In addition, afterwards Jaden nearly gets killed in his Duel with a Duel Monster Spirit in the alternate dimension, Alexis later confronts him personally and is mad at him for unnecessarily putting himself at run a risk of dying. However, while Alexis is controlled past Sartorius she shows a keen bargain of dislike for Jaden, referring to him as a "dork" and "loser" multiple times.
On the other hand, Jaden shows some slight affection for Alexis in the original Japanese for the first few episodes. For case, in episode 2, Alexis warns them that Chazz and his friends were all just a bunch of jerks. Jaden asks if Alexis was worried about him considering she fell in honey with him at get-go sight, causing her to giggle. In the dub as well, they would occasionally flirt. In episode three, after she destroys one of his monsters, Alexis asks if he was impressed. Jaden replies cheekily, "Impressed? I think I'grand in beloved." Alexis replies with, "Yous're sweet, too bad I accept to crush you."
Syrus Truesdale
Alexis and Syrus are good friends. Although in episode three, Syrus finds a faux love letter in his locker and thinks that Alexis wrote it to him and eventually falls for her that he goes to the Obelisk Blue girls' dorm to see her, only to be defenseless by the other girls and exist held hostage exist Jasmine and Mindy. Notwithstanding, after Jaden won the duel against Alexis, she and Syrus notwithstanding remain as friends.
Bastion Misawa
In the manga, Alexis doesn't display whatever particular romantic feelings for Jaden, simply is the object of Breastwork Misawa'south angel. Throughout the manga, Breastwork shows a lot of interest in Alexis, becoming extremely antsy and oft nervous when she is around. He is noted as being shy with Alexis, and lacks the courage to inquire her for her cell phone number. Alexis is as well possibly more flirtatious in the manga, since Syrus Truesdale is quoted every bit calling her a "siren." In the anime, she and Bastion are skilful friends. In Season 1, she called his H2o Dragon a "full washout" and said that her Etoile Cyber was potent, fifty-fifty though it wasn't nearly equally powerful every bit Bastion'south Water Dragon.
Atticus Rhodes
Alexis and Atticus are siblings and in the by they were shown to exist very shut to each other with Atticus teaching her how to duel and information technology is all thanks to his teachings Alexis was able to grow strong. Alexis at times is shown to get annoyed by Atticus celebrity affair but as a brother and sis they intendance for each other. Alexis is shown to be very business organization for Atticus and cares for his well being. Before the events of the anime afterward he mysteriously disappeared in a one-time abandon dorm, she badly tries to discover him with the assistance of Zane and when he was comatose afterward beingness saved from Nightshroud influence by Jaden, she stays by his bed side and is desperately worried.
Zane Truesdale
Among Zane's friends, Alexis is the one who is seen hanging out with him the most. During her first twelvemonth, she would frequently been seen talking to Zane in the Lighthouse and he also helped her in finding clues about Atticus while he disappeared and while Atticus disappeared, Zane acted as an older brother figure to her and is shown to intendance for Alexis and her well-being and she is shown to be grateful for his help. Although they never talk again after Zane graduates.
Chazz Princeton
Alexis finds Chazz vain and isn't willing to date him. In Season 1 Episode two, she told Jaden that Chazz was a wiggle. However when she defeated him in a duel near the end of Flavor i, she walked up to him, smiled and said "still friends?" In a Season 3 episode, Chazz has a tin of blue paint spilled on him. She walks up to him and says, "Why so blue?"
Deck
Cyber Girl
Alexis uses a "Cyber Girl" Deck, comprised of monsters that are based around dance-related sports. She originally focused on utilizing her "Cyber Blader" while increasing it's abilities through cards such as "Fusion Weapon". She likewise likes to use a combination of "Etoile Cyber" and "Doble Passe" to inflict large amounts of damage to her opponent whilst protecting her monster, which she later uses as Fusion Material or a Tribute for her stronger monsters. Alexis afterward incorporates the "Cyber Angel" archetype into her Deck, with more of a focus on Ritual Summoning. To quickly acquire the necessary cards, Alexis uses cards such as "Cyber Petit Affections" and "Ritual Sanctuary" while supporting them through "Fulfillment of the Contract" and "Ritual Weapon". Alexis also uses her "Cyber Prima" with "Prima Low-cal" as a contingency if her original strategies fail.
White Dark
While being stripped of her free will and controlled by Sartorius, Alexis ran a "White Night" Deck, which was based on the concrete feeling of cold, equally it focused on slowly exhausting her opponents while preventing them from countering her attacks. She was highly protective of the cards in this Deck, specially "White Veil", considering when Jaden destroyed it in episode 94, she vowed to Jaden that he would pay. (In the Japanese version, she is quoted equally maxim, "My sacred 'White Veil'… how cartel you do that to it!")
